Latchways ManSafe® Fall Protection System

Latchways cable based ManSafe® systems range from a single cable across an industrial unit roof to a complete network of systems enabling safe cleaning, maintenance, access and inspection. The unique Transfastener TM, attaching the user to the system, incorporates a patented starwheel design which allows the user continuous movement along the cable without the need to detach.
The systems are usually designed for 2 workers to be attached at any one time, but greater loads can be accommodated if necessary.
End anchors are made from stainless steel and use either a single M16 or 2 M12 fixing bolts. Typical end anchor loadings are 10 – 15kN, but can be further controlled through the spacing of intermediate brackets and the inclusion of inline energy absorbers. System design must be verified by the Latchways software programme.
System support brackets made from 316 marine grade stainless steel can be fixed into virtually any structure, including masonry, brick and blockwork and structural steel.
The intermediate brackets use a single M12 fixing point, and are usually spaced approximately 6 – 10 metres apart, depending on system design. The Transfastener passes freely over the intermediate supports, keeping the user attached at all times.

Latchways ManSafe® Systems For Ladders

Latchways cable based ManSafe systems for Ladders provide continuous fall protection when climbing or descending a fixed industrial ladder. The system can be planned at the design stage or added to existing structures and will operate smoothly in all environmental conditions.
The ManSafe system for ladders can be rung or stringer mounted and incorporates a tensioning device and cable clamp which allows simple swage free installation and indicates when the correct tension is reached. The system does not require any fixing holes to be made into the structure, as it clamps on to the rung or stringer. The LadderLatch™ unit passes freely over intermediate cable supports and can be detached or attached at any point on the ladder where it is safe to do so. Intermediate wire guides should be positioned at maximum 4 metres spacings up to 55metres, and every 2 to 3 metres above 55 metres high.
Consult Latchways technical literature for details. Latchways plc can also provide a specification service mailto:%28spec@latchways.com) and it is recommended that they are consulted early in the design process.
