MSA Latchways is currently awaiting approval as an AIA provider. The Course, titled ‘Fall Protection Systems: Selection, Specification, and Compliance’ will provide 1.0 LU/HSW Hour of Learning Units.

The learning objectives for the course are as follows:

  • discuss the need for fall protection, the duty to provide it, and the applicable governing regulations
  • list and describe the elements of the “hierarchy of protection” and how they relate to system selection
  • define the three main components of a fall arrest system and discuss how they contribute to worker safety
  •  describe horizontal and vertical lifeline systems and their key performance criteria, and
  •  identify the safety and performance advantages and disadvantages of various types of anchor devices.
